Akshay Marwah

Akshay Marwah is a Delhi based Arts Educationist and award winning film maker also a producer with his studio's (Marwah Studios) support, he has produced over 2,000 short films, some of which were shot in New York and London. He recently won acclaim for his short films at the 24-hour filmmaking competition at the Budapest Film Festival from Oscar-winning director Jiri Menzel. His short film, The Audition, directed by Karan Boolani, also got screened at the national film school in Nigeria, and his music film, based in New York, was part of the Philadelphia Film Festival. Akshay's been inspired to get into film production by his uncle actor and producer Sanjay Kapoor.[1]

Early life and background

Akshay Marwah is the maternal grandson of the film producer Surinder Kapoor. He is the Younger son of the founder of Noida Film City Sandeep Marwah and Reena Marwah.[2] He is the nephew of the producer Boney Kapoor, actors Anil Kapoor,[3] Sridevi and Sanjay Kapoor. He is the cousin of the currently popular actors Arjun Kapoor[4] and Sonam Kapoor[5] and the young film producer Rhea Kapoor.[6] Marwah has one elder brother is bollywood actor named Mohit Marwah who debuted in Akshay Kumar Produced Fugly (film).[7]

Akshay Marwah attended Don Bosco School and University of Delhi for his formal education.
