Akka Chellelu (English: Elder Sister — Younger Sister) is a 1970 Telugu drama film, produced by V. B. Rajendra Prasad under Jagapathi Art Productions and directed by A. Sanjeevi.[1] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sowcar Janaki, Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala in the lead roles, with music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. The film was a remake of the Tamil film Akka Thangai (1969).
Plot
The movie traces the story of how a murder affects the Family relationship between two sisters, Akka (Sowcar Janaki) and Chellelu (Vijaya Nirmala). Vijaya (Vijaya Nirmala) and Venu (Krishna), both law students at the same school, are in love. Vijaya (Sowcar Janaki) seeks to study law and serve the truth. She faces many obstacles and suffers repercussions to her health, but successfully completes her law degree.
Vijaya and Krishna meet in the city outskirts and witness a murder. Dharmayya (Gummadi) is their well-wisher. She is happy that a respectable Judge Ramachandra Rao (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) wants to marry her sister, but horrified when she realizes that he was the culprit of the earlier murder. In spite of her attempts to stop the marriage and at the request of her sister, the marriage went on peacefully. As a lawyer, Vijaya took up the case and has to face a lot of mental pressure between her lover, sister, and the Judge. How she solves the case is rest of the story.
