Ajay Saklani (born 30 September 1983), hails from district Mandi of Himachal Pradesh. Ajay Saklani is well known for his debut feature film Saanjh which is also the first Himachali language feature film.[1] Ajay Saklani won the 'Best Feature Film' award at Borrego Springs Film Festival for Saanjh film in 2017.[2]

Early and personal life

Ajay Saklani was born in Mandi, India to an ordinary family where his father served in Indian Army in others rank. His early education is from a government school in his village. Ajay Saklani started his career in entertainment industry as an editor while working with RGB 4:3 Productions in New Delhi. Later on he worked with various organizations and TV channels as an editor and producer.

After working in metro cities, Ajay returned to Himachal and began his own production house Silent Hills Studio in 2014. His debut film Saanjh was produced under that banner in 2015-16 and was released in April 2017.
