Noor ul Mashaikh Sayed Ahmed Mohiyuddeen Noori Shah Jeelani Arabic: (حضرة سيد أحمد محي الدين نوري شاه الجيلاني) was a renowned 19th century, Muslim Sufi, Wali,mystic, orator,Faqeeh,theologian,mujaddid and highly acclaimed Islamic scholar of the Qadri, Chisti order from the Indian sub continent. He was the 21st grand son of Ghousul Azam Sheikh Mohiyudheen Abdul Qadir Jilani. He is widely known as "Noor-ul-Mashaikh". His silsila has spread throughout the world in more than 40 countries through millions of his students (murid), many gatherings, mosques, Islamic schools, colleges and hospitals. He is the Founder of Kerala’s First Islamic Arabic College Jami'a Nooriyya Arabic College, Pattikkad in Malappuram District. He accepted the position of vice president of the Jami'a Nooriya . He was the student (murid) of the renowned Sufi saint Sheikh Ghousi Shah whose spiritual master's lineage goes to Machiliwale Shah, Mahmoodullah Shah and connects to Bande Nawaz Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi Nizamuddin Auliya. Finally he received the calaphate from his Sheikh Kanzul Irfan Moulana Sheikh Ghousi Shah. His ʿUrs (anniversary of his death) is celebrated on 14th of Rabīʿ ath-Thānī . His mausoleum (Dargah Shareef) is located in the Bandlaguda area of Telangana|Hyderabad, India. It is located at locality very well known as Noori Maskan in Hyderabad, India.

While Sheikh Noori Shah had millions of disciples (students or murids), few of them were given Caliphate and made Khalifa (or religious successors) of his religious spiritual chain and continued to spread the knowledge of Sufism and Spirituality. Among his Khalifa (or religious successors) who later became very well acclaimed and most renowned Sufi Saints in the Indian Sub-continent include Khwaja Dil Nawaz FaizeeShah Noori, Khwaja Faqeer Nawaz KaleemiShah Noori, JamaliShah Noori and ZuhooriShah Noori. These Sufi saints later spread their knowledge across more than 20 countries mainly in the Indian Sub-continent, Middle East and South East Asian countries.

The chain of spiritual masters (silsila) of Nooriyya reaches both Qadri and Chisti masters, hence came to be known as Chisti-Qadri silsila. Ahamed Mohiyudheen NooriShah Jeelani's Silsila continued to spread among people across more than 40 different countries with five major sub-branches as follows:

  • Silsila-e-Arifiyya Nooriyya lead by his own son and Khalifa called Sheikh Qutb-ul-Mashaikh Syed Arifuddeen Jeelani (Damath Barakatuhu). He is the current Leader of Silsila-e-Arifiyya Nooriyya. and continuation of Sajjada Janasheen. He is thus 23rd Grand Son of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gilani.[1] He currently leads all Urs celebrations of Ahamed Mohiyudheen NooriShah Jeelani at Noori Maskan in Hyderabad.
  • Silsila-e-Faizeeya Nooriyya was lead by his Khalifa called Sheikh Shams-ul-Aarifeen Qutb-ul-Aqtab Khwaja Dil Nawaz FaizeeShah Noori Chisti-ul-Qadiri whose Mausoleum (or tomb) is at Lalpet Dargah, Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu,India
  • Silsila-e-Aamiria Nooriyya was lead by his Khalifa called Sheikh Shams-ul-Mufassireen Khwaja Faqeer Nawaz KaleemiShah Aamiri Noori Chisti-ul-Qadiri whose Mausoleum (or tomb) is at Pannur Dargah, Sunguvarchatram area, 60 km from Chennai District of Tamil Nadu, India
  • Silsila-e-Jamaliya Nooriyya was lead by his Khalifa called Sheikh JamaliShah Noori Chisti-ul-Qadiri in Tamil Nadu
  • Silsila-e-Zuhooriya Nooriyya was lead by his Khalifa called Sheikh ZuhooriShah Noori Chisti-ul-Qadiri in kerala
