Agha Ali (also known as Agha Ali Abbas) is a Pakistani actor, writer and singer-songwriter. He is one of the most popular names in Pakistan's entertainment industry, appreciated for his wit and personality.

Personal life

Agha Ali is the younger son of the widely-known actor of the 80s and early 90s, Agha Sikander (d. 1993), himself the son of the famous villain actor Agha Saleem Raza (d. 1965),^[1] and, through his mother, the grandson of the legendary singer, actor and producer Inayat Hussain Bhatti,^[2] which makes him a nephew of famous TV actor Waseem Abbas as well a cousin to Ali Abbas. His brother Ali Sikander is also an actor. Recently he got engaged to Sarah Khan

Career

He started testing his talent when he was 19 years old and did serious theatre during his college days where he performed as an actor/singer in about 15 to 20 theater plays. His career started as an anchor-host in 2006 with the channel "A-TV" and with the very successful program "Total Round Up". He then got the 'Best Anchor Award' for the same program in ATV AWARDS 2006.

He started his acting career with 'Yaad Piya Ki Aaye' (2005) as Sameer, and then 'Satrangi' (2008). Satrangi happened to be a hit in the beginning but lost its charm in the later episodes. He took an off for good three years and then later came back in action. The reason was his education. The second music video, 'Mera Pehla Rock Song' (also the title of the album) was launched at the platform of the National Television PTV-HOME in the show "Morning With Juggan" on the 9th January, 2013, and got aired on all the channels worldwide, then followed by another music video which happened to be his third music video but was a cover "Khwab Adhoore Sahi" which actually proved him to be a good singer indeed.

For Agha 'RUKHSAR' on Geo tv happened to be a big break for him as an actor and the rest became history. His performances in drama serials like 'Halki Si khalish 'Sheher e Yaaran' 'Mere Meherban' proved him to be one of the best actors of the industry in the current times. Agha's drama serial 'Khuda Dekh Raha Hai' was much appreciated by masses due to its unique story-line. Agha Ali sung songs for the same. He appeared as a rockstar in this particular serial. The songs were a hit. He is highly appreciated by the people for his singing as well as acting skills. Andaz e Sitam is yet another amazing play where the performance of Agha Ali outshines all his previous performances. He played the hate and love relationship so well that audience could not hate him despite all the wrong doings of his character. He gathered huge appreciations from the masses.^[3] His leading role in 2012's Mein Hari Piya on Hum TV was nominated for Hum Award for Best Soap Actor.^[4][5]
