After Romeo were a boy band based in Los Angeles, California.[1] The members of the band were Jayk Purdy, Drew Ryan Scott, Blake English, and T. C. Carter. Jayk and Drew had been playing in pop related bands together since 2005 when they were both in their early 20s. After Romeo quietly disbanded in 2017 after Drew Ryan Scott was sued for sexual assault by former band member Devin Fox.[2]

History

After Romeo began by recording songs written by Drew Ryan Scott and releasing videos on a YouTube channel.[3] The music video of After Romeo's promotional single Free Fall reached number one on the MTV music chart and was featured in an internationally broadcast advertisement.[4] In February 2014, After Romeo was launched in the Italian music market.[5] After Romeo has been playing on Radio Disney and reached number 6 on the countdown. They started a Bully Proof tour and went to cities across America to talk in schools and also perform concerts on the weekends in those cities. They recently performed at Washington middle school in Seattle. They have also toured on the 2015 Pop Nation Tour around the U.S. as well. The group disbanded in 2017 amid reports of sexual assault against former band member Devin Fox. The main assailant was Drew Ryan Scott. Fox sued Drew. Fox is also suing Blake English, Jayk Purdy and T.C. Carter, who are currently still members of After Romeo, as well as former manager Jonnie Forster and his company, 4 Sound Entertainment, for negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The musician claims all of these individuals knew about what Drew was doing, but “did nothing and ratified such conduct” by allowing him to stay in the band. It was also revealed during the court proceeding that Drew Ryan Scott and Jayk Purdy were actually 36 and 35 years old respectively.
