Afsana Mimi (born December 20, 1968)[1][2] is a Bangladeshi actress, model and director.[3]

Career

Mimi started her career through acting in theater. She joined the theater troupe "Nagorik Natya Sampraday".[2] Mimi got her breakthrough in acting in Bengali television drama Kothao Keu Nei in 1990. Since then she has acted in many television dramas and few films. Lately she anchored a talk-show Moner Kotha. She owns a production house named "Krishnachura".[4] As of September 2013[3] she has been directing a Bengali film based on Muhammed Zafar Iqbal story Camp.[5]

Personal life

Mimi's father Syed Fazlul Karim and mother Shirin Afroze. Mimi married drama writer, actor and director Gazi Rakayet.[6] But she divorced him after a year in 1996.[4] She got involved herself in extramarital affair with Azam Reza who is brother of actress Shampa Reza.
