Afghanistan–United Arab Emirates relations refer to bilateral relations between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates.

UAE has a small humanitarian military presence in Afghanistan. UAE troops have been welcomed by the country as allied Muslim soldiers and the Emirati soldiers compliment the Afghan hospitality they encounter.[1] Protests from Kabul arose when the Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan torture controversy erupted, in which Issa, a member of the royal family, was spotted brutally beating an Afghan man who was accused to have ripped him off for only $5,000. The UAE maintains an embassy in Kabul while Afghanistan has an embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate-general in Dubai.

On January 10, 2017, five diplomats from the UAE were killed in a bombing of a guest house in Kandahar City, wounding the UAE's Ambassador to Afghanistan, Juma Mohammed Abdullah al-Kaabi.[2][3]
