Her mother's family, the Lowther family, are members of the British nobility and are headed by the Earl of Lonsdale. Aboah's maternal great-grandfather was Anthony Lowther, Viscount Lowther. Her father was born and raised in Ghana, and emigrated to England.[15] Aboah graduated from Brunel University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Modern Drama.

She played Lia in the 2017 Hollywood adaptation of the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell.[31]

She was featured in a 2018 commercial for Revlon's PhotoReady Insta-Filter™ Foundation.[32] Aboah was named British GQ's 'Woman of the Year' for 2017.[33]
