Achaeus (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Achaeus[pronunciation?] or Achaios (Ancient Greek: Ἀχαιός, Akhaios derived from achos αχος "grief, pain, woe") was the name of two mythological characters:
- Achaeus (son of Poseidon), the eponym of Achaea.[1]
- Achaeus (son of Xuthus), mythical founder of Achaean race.[2]
- Achaeus, son of Phthia, daughter of Phoroneus and the god Zeus.[3]
