Acanthosphinx, the widow sphinx, is a genus of moths in the Sphingidae family, containing one species Acanthosphinx guessfeldti.[2] It is known from forests from Sierra Leone to the Congo, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda.[3]

The length of the forewings is 57–70 mm.

The larvae feed on Bridelia micrantha.[4]
