A.Y.B.I. Siddiqi

A.Y.B.I. Siddiqi (born 5 August 1945) is a former Inspector General of Police (Chief of Police) of Bangladesh.[1] He has also played active roles in diplomatic and UN missions, having served as the Chief Liaison Officer for UNTAG in Namibia (1989–1990 ) and the Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh.[2] He is particularly noted for being a civil servant as well as a performing TV and radio artist, having released multiple albums with his wife Rehana Siddiqi. Prior to retirement from government service in 2004, Siddiqi was Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government[3] and before that he was the Secretary Water Resources Ministry. Since retirement from government service, Siddiqi has served as SME and consultant for multiple international water research, law and order and development projects.
