Company

The company was founded in April 2013 by Bram de Zwart and Brian Garret. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the company opened its second office in New York City in August, 2014.

3D Hubs is a privately held company backed by EQT Ventures, Balderton Capital and Dutch investors DOEN and Zeeburg. The company raised $4.5 million in its Series A round of funding in September, 2014.[1][2] As part of the financial deal, Mark Evans, General Partner at Balderton Capital, joined the two founders on the company board. On July, 2016 the company raised Series B funding led by EQT Ventures, as part of the financial deal, Ted Persson, Design Partner at EQT Ventures joined the board.[3]

Digital Manufacturing Report

The company releases a quarterly Digital Manufacturing Report covering recent trends in the manufacturing industry. The report includes print quality ratings, 3D printer model popularity, print categories, most used CNC und 3D printing materials, colour choices and demographics. The report is based on data from 6,000 active international suppliers that create over 200,000 parts each quarter[4]
