Best Feature Film "Letters to Elza"

The 33rd International Film Festival of India was held from 1-10 October 2002 in New Delhi.[1][2][3] The competitive edition was restricted to "Asian Directors". Deepak Sandhu served as the director for the festival.[4] The Devdas retrospective received special mention.[5][6] From this edition, the "Film Bazaar" was instituted.[7]

Winners

  • Best Film: Golden Peacock Award: "Letters to Elza" by "Igor Maslennikov" (Russian film)
  • Silver Peacock Award for the Most Promising Asian Director: "Reza Mirkarimi" for "Under the Moonlight" - "zir e noor e maah" (Iranian film)
  • Special Jury Award: Silver Peacock: "Mitr, My Friend" by Revathi and "Asrar EL-Banat" by "Magdy Ahmed Aly" (Egyptian film)[8]
