2020–22 ICC ODI League is scheduled to be the inaugural edition of the thirteen-team One Day International (ODI) league.[1] The league will last from May 2020 to May 2022 and will serve as part of the qualification process for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.[2] Twelve Full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Netherlands, who won the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship,[3] will participate in the tournament.[4] Each team will play against eight of the twelve opponents, four at home and four away. Each series will consist of three ODIs.[5]

Schedule

The schedule for the 2020-22 ODI League was announced by the ICC on 20 June 2018 as part of the 2018–2023 Future Tours Programme.[7] [8]

Qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup

For the World Cup, the top seven sides plus the hosts (India) will qualify automatically. The remaining five teams will play in a qualifying event along with an undecided number of Associate sides, from which two sides will go through to the final tournament.[10]
