The 2018 CAF Super Cup (officially the 2018 Total CAF Super Cup for sponsorship reasons)[1] will be the 27th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

The match will be played between the 2018 CAF Champions League winners and the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup winners on 29 December 2018.[2]

The Super Cup of this season will be brought forward from February to December following a transitional calendar which allows the CAF club competitions to switch from a February-to-November schedule to an August–to-May schedule, as per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017.[3] The Super Cup of next season will then be played in August after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (which has been switched from January/February to June/July) following the new calendar.[4]

Rules

The CAF Super Cup is played as a single match, with the CAF Champions League winners hosting the match. If the score is tied at the end of regulation, extra time will not be played, and the penalty shoot-out will be used to determine the winner (CAF Champions League Regulations XXVII and CAF Confederation Cup Regulations XXV).[5][6]
