The 2016 Super TC 2000 Season was the fifth season of the category, founded in 2012 and since that year was categorized as divisional major, compared to its pair TC 2000.
The calendar 2016 of the Argentine Championship of the Super TC 2000 had 14 competitions, distributed in 12 days, of which two of them developed double dates This calendar was made known jointly with the other categories of Argentine motorsports, the 22 of December Of 2015, after the end of the 2015 season, confirming the date and starting place of the TC 2000 on March 20, 2016 at the Mar and Valle Race Track and as a closing date on November 27, 2016 at the Autodromo Oscar Cabalén de High Grace.
Among the miscellaneous that presented the category in this year, highlighted the implementation of number 0 (zero) by the team Peugeot Total Team, attentive to the absence in this season of the champion pilot Néstor Girolami, an unprecedented event in the History of the category. Who was in charge of carrying this number in its sides, was the entrerriano Mariano Werner, incorporated to the equipment from this season.
The champion of this season, was the pilot Agustín Canapino of the Official Team Chevrolet YPF, that competed successively to the command of two units of the first and second generation of the Chevrolet Cruze model, giving the first title within this division to the Chevrolet brand. This title, in turn, would be the first by Canapino, on front-wheel drive cars.
