2016 Re-ALBUM is an album by the South Korean boy band SechsKies. It was released on December 1, 2016.

Overview

Re-Album was released 16 years after SechsKies officially disbanded in 2000, making them one of the longest running K-pop groups ever.[1]

Some of the songs in the album were very old and it was difficult to find the original sources, so the president of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, ordered them to be re-composed by in-house producers Rovin, Airplay, Future Bounce and Kang Ukjin.[2]

The music videos were filmed during winter in Sapporo, Japan.[3]

Background

After SechsKies signed with YG Entertainment many started speculating when would they release new music. The fans got what they wanted when their digital single "Three Words" was first released on October 7, 2016[4] and later on November 23, 2016, YG Entertainment released a "Who's next?" teaser and revealed it to be SechsKies with their new Album called "Re-ALBUM".[1][5] The only songs performed before the official release of the album were Com' Back and Couple in the end of the year Melon music Awards.[6]

Finally on the midnight between November and December, the album along its MV for the title track "Couple" were released. No "new" songs came with the album but 10 old songs were carefully selected for Re-recording, Rearranging and remastering, bringing them to the modern age and giving them a YG Entertainment touch.[5]
