The 2016–17 South of Scotland Football League, is the 71st season of the South of Scotland Football League.
St Cuthbert Wanderers are the defending champions. This is the third season which the league was added to the Scottish league pyramid at level six, with the winner playing off against the East of Scotland Football League winner for a place in the 2017–18 Lowland Football League. This will be subject to the successful club meeting the criteria for promotion.
