The 2005 Oceania Cup was held from 15 to 19 November 2005. The men's tournament was held in Suva, Fiji, while the women's tournament was held in Auckland, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. Three teams competed in the men's tournament while two teams competed in the women's tournament. The winners of this tournament qualified for the 2006 Men's and Women's Hockey World Cup.[1]

Australia won the men's tournament by defeating New Zealand 5–1 in the final. Finishing third in the pool meant Fiji placed third overall.[2]

Australia won the women's tournament after finishing above New Zealand at the conclusion of the pool stage.[3]
