The 2001 Champions Cup was a professional invitational snooker tournament which took place in August 2001 in Brighton, England. It featured players who had won tournaments the previous season. This was the final season the tournament was played due to a lack of sponsorship and television coverage.[1]
John Higgins won the event, beating Mark Williams 7–4 in the final,[2] netting the £100,000 prize fund. As in previous editions, all players apart from the champion received no prize money.[3]
