1st Light Cavalry Division (France)

The French 1st Light Cavalry Division was a French Army division active during World War II. The 1st Light Cavalry Division was formed alongside the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Light Cavalry Divisions in February 1940.[1]

During the Battle of France in May 1940 the division contained the following units:

  • 2 Cavalry Brigade
  • 11 Light Mechanized Brigade
  • 75 Artillery Regiment[1]
