1982 is a 2013 American drama film written and directed by Tommy Oliver and starring Hill Harper.[1] It is Oliver's directorial debut.[2] The film is also semi-autobiographical.[3]

Premise

A father struggles to protect his daughter from the reality of her mother's drug addiction.

Reception

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 71% based on 7 reviews, and an average rating of 6.8/10.[4]

Sheri Linden of The Hollywood Reporter gave the film a positive review and wrote, "Suitably low-key but sometimes under-realized, this drama is fueled by its working-class milieu and a heart-wrenching performance by Hill Harper."[5]
