1963 NHRA Winternationals

The 1963 NHRA Winternationals (commonly known as the Winternats) were a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing event, held at Auto Club Raceway, Pomona, California on 17 February.[1]

Results

The Top Gas win went to Bob Muravez (in the John Peters-owned car) over Connie Kalitta.[2]

Tony Nancy took the win in Comp Eliminator, defeating Jerry Hardick.[3]

Coug "Cookie" Cook claimed Middle Eliminator in his Oldsmobile-engined Willys, over Jim Dunn.[4]

Junior Eliminator was won by Hugh Tucker, winner of Little Eliminator at Pomona in 1962, over Bob Culbert.[5]

Charlie Smith was defeated by Dick Bourgeois in Little Eliminator.[6]

In Stock Eliminator, Al Eckstrand in a 1963 Dodge defeated Bill Shirey in a 1963 Plymouth.[7]
