1961 Elbarusovo school fire

The 1961 Elbarusovo school fire was a fire that occurred on 5 November 1961 in Elbarusovo, Chuvash ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union.

The fire occurred when a teacher tried to light a fire using benzine. The school burned down and 110 people died,[1] among them forty-four children aged under eight and four teachers.[2]
