    1707 Chantal, provisional designation 1932 RL, is a stony main-belt asteroid discovered by Eugène Delporte at Royal Observatory of Belgium on 8 September 1932. The S-type asteroid appears to have a long rotation period of at least 10 hours.[1]

    It was named after Chantal, a niece of Belgian astronomer Georges Roland (1922–1991) at of Uccle[2] and co-discoverer of the comet Arend-Roland.
