Šiauliai University, established in 1997, is located in Šiauliai, Lithuania. As of 2008, the University was attended by approximately 11,800 students.[1]
History
Šiauliai University was founded by a merger of the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute and the Šiauliai Polytechnical Faculty of the Kaunas University of Technology. The latter had been a branch of the former Kaunas Polytechnical Institute branch since 1959.
Structure
The University has 9 departments and 2 institutes. The following institutes and departments were established after the reorganisation of University's divisions on the 1st of January, 2018:
Continuing and Distance Studies Insitute;
Research Institute;
Department of Business and Public Management;
Department of Computer Science;
Department of Economics;
Department of Education;
Department of Engineering;
Department of Humanities;
Department of Music Education and Visual Arts;
Department of Social Welfare Studies and Physical Education;
Department of Special Education.
