Élie Gesbert (born 1 July 1995 in Saint-Brieuc) is a French racing cyclist. He joined UCI Professional Continental team Fortuneo–Samsic in August 2016.[1] Gesbert competed in the 2017 and 2018 Tour de France.[2]

2017

Gesbert rode the Tour de France, and started as the first rider in the Individual Time Trial on stage 1 on his birthday. He won his first ever professional win at the Tour du Limousin, as he won stage 1, where he also finished 2nd overall.

2018

Élie Gesbert rode his first ever monument in 2018, at the Liège–Bastogne–Liège, and finished 91st. He also participated in the 2018 Tour de France during which his name was in the news, as he was the victim of a punch from fellow competitor Gianni Moscon. [3]
