From Proto-Turkic *kut-lug (“fortunate, blessed”). Equivalent to 𐰴𐰆𐱃 (qut, “luck, fortune”) + 𐰞𐰆𐰍 (luɣ). Cognate with Turkish kutlu (“happy, blessed”).
