  1. The dakuten, which indicates voicing (i.e. ka with a dakuten is pronounced as ga). It is also sometimes colloquially used to indicate a strained or shouting vocalization.

Usage notes

  • When used to indicate strained vocalization, a kana can receive only one dakuten regardless of usual voicing.
