     A peacock, thinking a twisted river is a serpent, jumps after it. A deer, glancing at the fine peacock tail and believing it is grass, goes after it. The eyes of the deer are far more beautiful than glittering sapphires; a monkey, craving plums and believing they are plums, jumps after them. They thus perish in succession.
