Etymology

From Sauraseni Prakrit [Term?], from Sanskrit सार्ध (sārdha, plus a half), a compound of (sa, with) and अर्ध (ardha, half). Compare Nepali साढे (sāḍhe), Punjabi ਸਾਢੇ (sāḍhe), Gujarati સાડા (sāḍā), Marathi साडे (sāḍe).
