Etymology
From Old Marathi वेगळ (vegaḷa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀯𑁂𑀕𑁆𑀕𑀮 (veggala). Cognate to Gujarati વેગળું (vegaḷũ), Oriya ବେଗଳ (begôḷô) and perhaps Assamese বেলেগ (beleg).
