گیج
Persian
Etymology
Cognate with Bakhtiari [script needed] (gēz, “mad”), Northern Kurdish gêj (“dizzy”). Compare also the Iranian borrowings: Middle Armenian գիժ (giž), Georgian გიჟი (giži), Assyrian Neo-Aramaic [script needed] (giž, gič), Udi ҝиж (gʲiž).
The Persian is probably borrowed from a Northwestern Iranian language, rather than inherited.
