Compare Old Median *ganza-bara- and Iranian borrowings: Old Armenian գանձ (ganj), Georgian განძი (ganʒi), Ancient Greek γάζα (gáza), Latin gaza, Classical Syriac ܓܙܐ (gazzā), Hebrew גֵּנֶז (gḗnez), Arabic كنز (kanz) (> Spanish alcancía, Portuguese alcanzia).
