Derived from the active participle of أَمْتَعَ (ʾamtaʿa, to cause to enjoy), from the root م ت ع (m-t-ʿ); compare مُتْعَة (mutʿa, enjoyment).

مُمْتِع (mumtiʿ) (feminine مُمْتِعَة (mumtiʿa), masculine plural مُمْتِعُون (mumtiʿūn), feminine plural مُمْتِعَات (mumtiʿāt))
