Derived from the passive participle of كَرِهَ (kariha, to hate, to dislike).

مَكْرُوه (makrūh) (feminine مَكْرُوهَة (makrūha), masculine plural مَكْرُوهُون (makrūhūn), feminine plural مَكْرُوهَات (makrūhāt))

  1. disliked, hated
    Synonym: كَرِيه (karīh)
  2. (fiqh) makruh, not haram, but disliked or offensive, such that a person will be rewarded for avoiding it.
