قَاطَعَ (qāṭaʿa) III, non-past يُقَاطِعُ‎ (yuqāṭiʿu)

  1. to separate oneself from (construed with a direct object), renounce, cut one's acquaintance
  2. to interrupt
  3. (modern) to give work at a fixed price
