فطرة

See also: قطرة

Arabic

Etymology 1

Borrowed from Ge'ez ፍጥረት (fəṭrät, creation; nature, disposition) together with فَطَرَ (faṭara, to create) from ፈጠረ (fäṭärä, to create; to inscribe, to carve), unless – which cannot be excluded –, independently shaped from the borrowed verb, which is however unlikely considering the semantic and morphic parallelism.
