Etymology

From Classical Arabic طَاحَ (ṭāḥa, to perish, to stray, to miss (a goal etc), to fall) (cf. أَطَاح (ʾaṭāḥ, to topple, to cause to fall down)). Cognate with Hijazi Arabic طاح (ṭāḥ, to fall).
