See first paragraph for س و د‎ (s-w-d) in Lane on the coordination with the scale فُعْلَل‎ (fuˁlāl), as if the root was originally س ء د د‎ (s-ʾ-d-d), an augment of س د د‎ (s-d-d); particular to certain hamza-featuring dialects like that of the Banī Ṭayyˀ.
