تَطْوِيل • (taṭwīl) m

1. verbal noun of طَوَّلَ‎ (ṭawwala) (form II)
2. tatweel, kashida: the phenomenon of elongating a horizontal stroke between two Arabic script letters; and its computational representation

     al-kašīdatu (at-taṭwīlu)
     yajibu ʿadamu stiḵdāmi l-kašīdata fī ʾasmāʾi al-mawāqiʿi li-ʾanna al-kašīdata al-ʿaraḍu min-hā huwa ʿaraḍun jamāliyyun li-ṭ-ṭibāʿati fa-qaṭ.

     One shall not use the kešide in names of sites, for its purpose is an aesthetical one, for printing.
