נעשה

נַעֲשָׂה • (na'asá) (nif'al construction, active counterpart עָשָׂה‎)

1. to be done, performed, executed
   • Esther 6:11, with translation of the Darby Bible:

     כָּכָה יֵעָשֶׂה לָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הַמֶּלֶךְ חָפֵץ בִּיקָרוֹ

     kácha yeasé laísh ashér hamélech chaféts bikaró

     Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honour!

2. to be made, created, brought into being.
   • Leviticus 7:9, with Young's Literal Translation:

     וְכָל־מִנְחָה אֲשֶׁר תֵּאָפֶה בַּתַּנּוּר וְכָל־נַעֲשָׂה בַמַּרְחֶשֶׁת וְעַל־מַחֲבַת לַכֹּהֵן הַמַּקְרִיב אֹתָהּ לוֹ תִהְיֶה

     v'chol-minchá ashér teafé batanúr v'chol-na'asá vamarchéshet v'al-machavát lakohén hamakrív otáh ló tihyé

     and every present which is baked in an oven, and every one done in a frying-pan, and on a girdel, [is] the priest's who is bringing it near; it is his

3. to become, turn into.
   • c. 1170–1180, Maimonides, משנה תורה‎,‎ עדות chapter 14:

     מי שהיה יודע לחבירו עדות עד שלא נעשה חתנו ונעשה חתנו… הרי זה פסול

     Someone who knew testimony of his friend when he had not yet become his son-in-law, and became his son-in-law,… he is invalid [as a witness]

• The present tense נַעֲשֶׂה (na'asé) is now often pronounced (like the past tense) נַעֲשָׂה (na'asá).

נַעֲשֶׂה • (na'asé)

1. First-person plural future (prefix conjugation) of עָשָׂה‎ (asá).
   • Genesis 1:26, with translation of the King James Version:

     וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים נַעֲשֶׂה אָדָם בְּצַלְמֵנוּ כִּדְמוּתֵנוּ

     vayómer elohím na'asé adám b'tsalménu kidmusénu

     And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness
