Usage notes

  • Unlike English dry, Hebrew הִתְיַבֵּשׁ is specifically used when a person or thing is becoming dry on its own. When one person or thing is drying another, the related transitive verb ייבש \ יִבֵּשׁ (yibésh) is used.
