  1. to raise, lift
    • Genesis 37:28, with translation of the King James Version:
      וַיִּמְשְׁכוּ וַיַּעֲלוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף מִן הַבּוֹר
      vayimsh'chú vaya'alú et yoséf min habór
      and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit
  2. to bring from a low place to a high place
