Etymology
From Byzantine Greek βρουτσίν (broutsín, “small brush made from pig bristle”), the diminutive of βρούτσα (broútsa, “brush”), also spelled βούρτζα (boúrtza), βούρτσα (boúrtsa), βρούτζα (broútza), which derives via Vulgar Latin from Proto-Germanic *burstiz, represented in German as Bürste (“brush”).[1][2][3][4]
In the dialects recorded only in Transylvania and Nor Nakhichevan.
