Etymology

According to Ačaṙean, related to կոր (kor), both of uncertain origin.[1][2] J̌ahukyan derives from Proto-Indo-European *ger-s-, from *ger- (to turn, wind) with a close cognate in Norwegian karra (to shrivel, wrinkle up, curl).[3]
