тәҙрә

Bashkir

Тәҙрә

Etymology

From *tereze "window", from Persian درزه (darza).

In Bashkir, the -z- became interdental between vowels (following the regular Bashkir development), and metathesis took place: tereze*tereðetäðerätäðrä. The pleophonic form тәҙерә (täðerä) is also attested in dialects.

Cognate with Tatar тәрәзә (täräzä), Kazakh терезе (tereze), Kyrgyz терезе (tereze), Karachay-Balkar терезе, Kumyk терезе, Uyghur دېرىزە (dërize), Uzbek deraza (window).
