тесный

Russian

Etymology

From Old East Slavic тѣснъ (těsnŭ), from Proto-Slavic *těsnъ (narrow). According to Václav Machek, it is related to Ancient Greek στενός (stenós, narrow, tight), thus making both derive from Proto-Indo-European *ténh₂us (thin).
