күрше

Bashkir

Etymology

Cognate with Tatar күрше (kürşe), Kazakh көрші (körşi, neighbor), Southern Altai кӧрӱш (kӧrüš, a friend, a person one has met).

In Arvo Räsänen's opinion, this is derived from the verb kӧrüš- "to meet, to see each other".

Pronunciation

  • IPA(key): [kʏrˈʃɪ̞]
  • Hyphenation: күр‧ше
